Local Painting Expertise in Greensboro

Greensboro's best-known neighborhoods were built between 1900 and the 1960s, and about 43 percent of the city's homes predate 1980. Big, older houses change how a paint job is planned.

Irving Park and Fisher Park, 1900s to 1930s

Irving Park went up largely from 1911 into the 1930s in Colonial, Tudor and Classical Revival styles. Fisher Park, just north of downtown, mixes Queen Anne, Foursquare and Craftsman houses from the same decades. Multi-story walls, columns, shutters and deep cornices mean exterior prep can outlast the painting itself, and the quote should say so.

Postwar Houses in Hamilton Lakes and Starmount Forest

Hamilton Lakes began as its own town in 1925 and added more than 150 houses in the 1950s and 1960s. Starmount Forest, carved from it in 1927, filled in after World War II with one and one-and-a-half story Cape Cods. Dormers and low eaves make these houses easier to reach, but dormer trim is where rot hides.
