Before & After: Exterior Transformation (Photos + What We Did)

There’s nothing like a great exterior transformation. The right colors and a clean finish can make a home look refreshed overnight, but what really makes the difference is what happens before the final coat goes on.

Below is a recent exterior glow-up that’s a perfect example of how prep-first craftsmanship and the right products create a result that lasts.

Before

After

The short story

When we first saw this home, the exterior had the classic signs of wear: sun-faded areas, chalky trim, and a few spots where old paint was starting to fail. The homeowner wanted a clean, updated look, but also wanted to make sure the next paint job didn’t start peeling in a year or two. So we treated it like we treat every exterior: protect the surfaces, prep properly, and use premium coatings matched to the home.

What We Did

Every home is different, but this project followed the same quality-first sequence we rely on:
  • Protected surrounding areas and landscaping
  • Washed the exterior to remove grime and residue
  • Scraped/sanded failing paint where needed
  • Primed exposed/bare areas to support adhesion
  • Applied premium exterior coatings for a durable finish

3 Lessons Learned For Any Homeowner Planning An Exterior Paint Job)

If you’re planning to paint your home this year, these are the three things we wish every homeowner knew upfront:
  1. Prep is what makes paint last. Washing, scraping, sanding, and priming aren’t “extras.” They’re the foundation that prevents peeling and early failure.
  2. The right product matters as much as the right color. Sun exposure, moisture, and the surface itself all affect which coatings will perform best. We use premium options like Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and PPG and match them to the job.
  3. A clear plan makes the project stress-free. When the scope, timeline, and expectations are clear, the whole experience is smoother, from start day to final walkthrough.
